Your Minor ID, also called your Location ID, identifies your practice's claiming location to Medicare. You'll typically need it in two situations:
When first setting up Tyro Health Online. Registering your providers for online claiming usually involves submitting paperwork to Medicare, and that registration form asks for your Minor ID.
When contacting Medicare directly for support with an existing claiming issue — they may ask for it to identify your location.
Either way, this number is issued by Tyro Health Online and is not something Smartsoft can provide you.
This only applies to online claiming through Tyro Health Online. If you're using Tyro Health EFTPOS (Medicare Easyclaim via a physical terminal), a Minor/Location ID isn't relevant — that integration doesn't use this identifier at all.
You can find it yourself in your Tyro Health Online account:
Login to your Tyro Health Online account.
Select Locations from the side menu.
Select the relevant location.
Your Minor ID/Location ID is listed on the Details tab.
