Adding a Referring Doctor to an Account

Overview

Referring Doctors allow for the tracking and reporting of Referrals via the Reports > Patients > Referrals report and can be required for submitting claims.

Adding a Referring Doctor

Step 1:

Go to the Patient File > Accounts tab and click Edit.

Step 2:

Click Add under the Referring Doctors menu.

Step 3:

Select the referring doctor from the dropdown menu.

If the referring doctor doesn't have a file, use the plus icon to create a new one.

Step 4:

Add the referral date and referral expiry. You can quickly set the referral expiry date with the 3 Month and 12 Month buttons.

Deleting/Marking Referrals as Inactive

Once a referral has been completed, you can Mark it as Inactive by unchecking the Active box while in Edit mode. This will keep the referral for record keeping but hide it from the list/

If the Referral is not needed, it can be deleted by clicking on the trash can icon on the right.
