Updated over 6 months ago

PracSuite integrates with both Tyro Health Online and Tyro Health EFTPOS which allow you to submit Medicare claims. Continue reading below for an overview of some key differences between each of these solutions.

Tyro Health Online

Medicare and DVA claiming via Tyro Health Online is referred to as Online Claiming. The entire process is completed virtually within PracSuite in your web browser. Please note that Tyro Health Online charges per claim. Further information regarding Tyro Health Online pricing can be found here.

You can submit the following types of claims:

Medicare Bulk Bill Claim

  • No gap is charged to the patient

  • The rebate is paid back to the practice

  • Once the claim is approved by Medicare, the corresponding invoice in PracSuite will be automatically paid off

  • You can report on declined claims directly in PracSuite

Medicare Patient Claim

  • Accept full payment via any payment method

  • The rebate is paid into the patient's bank account within 1-2 business days.

DVA Claim

  • When the rebate is paid back to the practice, the corresponding invoice in PracSuite will be automatically paid off.

  • You can report on declined claims directly in PracSuite.

Tyro Health EFTPOS

Medicare claims via a physical Tyro EFTPOS terminal are referred to as Easyclaim. DVA claiming is not possible via the Tyro Terminal.

Medicare Bulk Bill Claim

  • No gap is charged to the patient

  • The rebate is paid back to the practice

  • Once the claim is approved by Medicare, you must manually pay off the corresponding invoice in PracSuite

  • No reporting on claim status (approved/declined) is available within PracSuite

Medicare Patient Claim

  • Full payment is taken upfront

  • The rebate must be paid back to a savings/debit card immediately after processing the Medicare claim.

  • If the patient doesn't have a savings/debit card, they cannot receive the rebate. In this case, you will generally need to provide the patient with a copy of their receipt so that they can claim manually via the Medicare app.

DVA Claim

  • DVA claiming via Tyro EFTPOS is not available. This type of claim can only be completed via the Tyro Health Online integration.
