By default, PracSuite sends SMS using a pool of shared mobile numbers. PracSuite will try to send SMS from your account using the same mobile number, helping patients recognise messages from your practice. Note that the mobile number may be shared by other practices using PracSuite, generally outside of your area.

As an optional add-on, PracSuite users can lease a dedicated SMS sender number. The advantages of a dedicated, fixed SMS sender number are:

1. The mobile number is reserved solely for your PracSuite account, which will not be used by any other private or business users.

2. Any SMS message sent to the dedicated number will be delivered to your PracSuite account, regardless of whether a message has been previously sent to the patient. This means that the number can be advertised so that previously unknown people can send SMS messages to your practice and into PracSuite.

SMS dedicated numbers have a once-off setup fee of $33 inc GST and an ongoing monthly fee of $11 inc GST.
