Using the Hourly Billing feature
Updated over a year ago

Hourly Billing is designed for practices that invoice at an hourly rate, such as with the NDIS. When invoicing via the Appointment Book, Hourly Billing will set the quantity field for the item code based on the appointment duration. For example, a quantity of 1 = 60 minutes, 0.5 = 30 minutes etc.

Note: Hourly Billing is only supported when invoicing via the appointment book.

Enabling Hourly Billing

Go to Settings > Billing > Billing and check Enable Hourly Billing.

Once enabled, Hourly Billing is configured per Appointment Type.

Select an Appointment Type from the list that requires Hourly Billing.

Scroll down to the Default Item Code & Duration section. Along with enabling Hourly Billing, you must specify the default duration and item code.

Note: It's important for the default item code you select to represent the total hourly rate. Do not select item codes with fees less than the hourly rate.

Click Save to finalise your changes.

Using Hourly Billing via the Appointment Book

Hourly billing relies on an appointment's duration, so it will only work when invoicing via the appointment book.

Go to an appointment and select the Invoice option.

After selecting Invoice in the appointment menu, you'll see your default billing code added to the invoice with the quantity field set according to the appointment's duration.

After the default item is added, proceed with your standard invoicing workflow.
