NDIS Rounding
Updated over 6 months ago

In Settings > Billing, we've added a new 'NDIS rounding logic' option to better handle item quantities and fees when invoicing under the NDIS, where fees are typically rounded down. It ensures smoother interactions with plan managers and the NDIA, reducing rounding issues and minimising rejections for invoices and bulk uploads.

Further information regarding the impact of the NDIS logic feature on item quantities and fees can be found below.

All invoicing in PracSuite will be influenced by this logic. Practices that don't exclusively bill to the NDIS should carefully consider this before enabling the feature.

Quantity * Item Fee Examples

When the item fee is multiplied by the quantity, the resulting value can be several decimal places, usually rounded up. When NDIS logic is enabled, we will round down.

Example 1

$193.99 * 2.25 qty (2 hours 15 minutes) = $436.4775

  • With NDIS logic disabled, PracSuite will round up to $436.48.

  • With NDIS logic enabled, PracSuite will round down to $436.47.

Example 2

$193.99 * 0.5 qty (30 minutes) = $96.995

  • With NDIS logic disabled, PracSuite will round up to $97.00.

  • With NDIS logic enabled, PracSuite will round down to $96.99.

Hourly Billing Examples

Hourly Billing is designed for practices that invoice at an hourly rate, such as with the NDIS. When invoicing via the Appointment Book, Hourly Billing will set the quantity field for the item code based on the appointment duration. For example, a quantity of 1 = 60 minutes, 0.5 = 30 minutes etc. Click here to learn more about Hourly Billing.

The rows highlighted in red represent intervals that can cause rounding issues when using the Hourly Billing.

When NDIS logic is enabled, the NDIS preference will be used for Hourly Billing conversions.
