User Groups let you group multiple users together under a shared name. At present, User Groups are used to assign tasks in bulk and filter task reports by group, instead of selecting each person individually.
A user can belong to multiple groups, for example someone might sit in both "Team Leaders" and "Intake Team".
Creating a User Group
Go to Settings > Users & Security > User Groups.
Select Add to create a new group, then give it a name under User Group Name, for example "Team Leaders" or "Intake Team".
Use the Users not in this group and Users in this group lists to build your group:
Select a user on the left and use the arrow buttons in the middle to move them into the group. The double arrow buttons move everyone in the list at once.
Hold Ctrl (Windows) or ⌘ (Mac) and click to select multiple users at once, or hold Shift and click to select a range.
Use the Display, Profession and Role filters above each list to narrow things down before selecting, handy if you have a long list of users.
Select Save.
Editing a User Group
Groups can be edited at any time from Settings > Users & Security > User Groups.
Using User Groups for Task Assignment
Assign a task to one or more groups alongside or instead of individual users. See How to Create a Patient Task for more.
