Linking an Appointment to an Invoice

Updated this week

Overview

Appointments are linked to invoices for a couple of reasons:

  1. To automatically mark the appointment as complete when performed as part of your workflow.

  2. To be able to see which invoice and appointment belongs to and vice versa.

This linking happens automatically when you create the invoice from the directly from the appointment, see this article for more information.

If the invoice is generated from the patient's file however, it will need to be manually linked to the correct appointment.

Manually Linking an Appointment to an Invoice

Step 1:

Open the invoice you want to link. This will need to be done on the patient's file.

Step 2:

Select the Edit button in the top left of the invoice.

Step 3:

In the bottom right-hand corner, find the Linked Appointment section and select the edit icon.

Step 4:

In the popup that appears, you will see all invoice items. Use the Appointment drop-down list to associate each item with an appointment.

If the appointment doesn't show in the list, it was most likely outside of the Date Range set or with a different Practitioner. You can adjust these filters as needed to show the correct appointment.

Step 5:

Click Save to finalise your changes.

You can find more information on invoicing patients in this article on How to Invoice a Patient.
