Manual Refunds in PracSuite

Updated over a year ago

When a refund has been manually processed via your Tyro terminal, it is recommended that you also add that refund into PracSuite for reconciliation purposes. This article covers this specific scenario, where you need to add a refund entry in PracSuite without actually re-processing the refund.

1) Go to the Patient File > Invoices tab.

2) Click Payments.

3) Within the grid, select the Payment you would like to refund.

4) Click Refund.

The Refund Allocation window will appear, where you can specify the amount being refunded and the refund method.

5) In the Tyro Terminal drop-down, select None.

Please note that having a Tyro Terminal selected here will re-process the refund via Tyro. In this scenario the refund has already been processed manually on the Tyro terminal, so we do not want to process the refund again a second time.

6) Type in the Refund amount, matching the amount refunded via the Tyro terminal.

7) In the Refund via drop-down, ensure that EFTPOS has been selected.

This is the most accurate representation of how the refund was provided.

8) Enter a Reason for Refund.

9) Confirm that the payment was refunded manually via Tyro by enabling the check-box next to the message:

'I confirm this payment was refunded manually via Tyro, or I have provided a refund for this payment through another method'

10) Click Next.

11) Complete the remaining steps in the PracSuite refund process.

All steps beyond this follow the normal refund process and can be completed as normal by following the prompts.

12) Success! You have now added a refund in PracSuite that reflects a manual refund processed on the Tyro terminal.
