How to send an ad hoc email

Sending a one-off email to a patient or contact from PracSuite

You can send a one-off email to a patient, or to a contact on their file, directly from PracSuite.

Wherever an email address appears in PracSuite, you'll see an envelope icon next to it. Click this icon to open a New Email window with that address already filled in as the recipient. You'll find this icon:

  • On the patient's Details tab, next to their Email address

  • In the appointment details pane, next to the patient's email address

  • Next to referring doctor and patient file contact email addresses

To send the email:

  1. Click the envelope icon next to the email address you want to send to.

  2. Check the From address and Priority, and toggle Show BCC if you need to BCC someone.

  3. Add a CC recipient if needed.

  4. Enter a Subject.

  5. Click Use Template to start from an existing email template, or write your message from scratch in the Message field.

  6. Attach any files if needed (the total email size, including attachments, must be under 20MB).

  7. Click Send.

Note: advanced email templates can't be edited inline in the compose window. If you need to tweak the wording of an advanced template, edit the template itself first, or use a standard email template instead.

If you need to send the same email to a large group of patients at once, see How to Send an Email to Patients in Bulk.
