A Direct Login URL is an encrypted link that allows a PracSuite user to log in without entering a username and password. This feature has been designed specifically for third-party booking agencies to allow quick access to your appointment book.
Note: Direct Login URLs must be stored in a controlled and encrypted environment as they provide direct access to your PracSuite system. It should be treated with the same care as your username and password.
1. Creating a User Account for the Third-party Booking Agency
To enable the Direct Login feature, you will need to create a new PracSuite User account for your third-party booking agency and assign a Role with the desired permissions. If you have already created a login for your third-party booking agency, you can jump to step 2.
โ
We strongly encourage you to restrict the permissions on the Role that you create for the third-party booking agency so that they can only access the functions they require i.e. appointment booking.
2. Enabling IP Barring for the User
A requirement to use the Direct Login URL feature is that IP Address Barring is enabled for the user login. This will require you to create an IP address group in Settings > Users & Security > IP Addresses that contains a list of approved/whitelisted IP addresses. Note: This will require you to obtain the public IP addresses for the individuals at the third-party booking agency.
3. Configuring the Direct Login URL for the User
After creating the IP address group, head back to the user account you created for the third-party booking agency. Scroll down to the Security section and select the IP address group that you created from the IP Barring drop-down.
You will then be able to enable the Direct Login URL switch.
Select the Copy icon next the switch to open the URL generation prompt.
The Directly Login URL can be set up to direct the user to the home screen or directly to the appointment book, including a specific business, practitioner and/or profession.
Select Generate URL to finalise the Direct Login URL.
Select Copy URL to copy the link to your clipboard so that you provide it to your third-party booking agency.
Note: Direct Login URLs must be stored in a controlled and encrypted environment as they provide direct access to your PracSuite system. It should be treated with the same care as your username and password.
